I finished proof-reading Kristian's manuscript today!
All told, the project took almost exactly 40 hours -- from when I went to K's house to pick up the telephone book sized sheaf of papers, through the hours and hours of reading and trying to sort out difficulties, and the long phone calls, to getting back from my in-person meeting with K this afternoon.
I'm very pleased with myself: K says I really helped him sort out chapter 3, which had had him worried. Emily Jane said that K told her "Sven is amazing!" And K said directly "you're very good at this," re proofing. Compliments like that are ones to write down and remember.
It's a good book. You should get it. Well, when it comes out... Uh, a year from now? You know that I'm lefty as all get-out -- and still it did a nice job of pulling together disparate facts and organizing them for me. I feel very edified right now.
