Hair. (Cuz I can.)
Finally got a haircut on Saturday. What's it been? Five, six months? Makes my face look "sharper, more angular" -- which I'm OK with, I think. However it looks (it's a haircut -- what can you do?) it feels good. Clean. Purposeful.
The trick is to ask for a #2 razor on the back, with a shelf that's shaded in; #2 on the sides, shaded in, but very short above, too; shorten the top quite a bit, and the bangs. The bangs are shorter than I expected, but it looks good in combo with the rest.
Tried spiking the front with blue for a Tin-Tin. Blue doesn't show, and it's goonier than I'd hoped. Bah. ...Nobody knows, that my fantasy haircut when I start going more bald, is a neon red punk Tin-Tin with everything else shaved down to about a #1. :-)
Saturday afternoon I went with G to a used clothing sale, to benefit the women's temple. Actually found some good stuff, surprise surprise! Dinner at Chez Jose, and then to a party. Left my car at Leopoldo's where I'd serendipitously met up with G after the haircut.
Sunday was cuddly, getting started in the afternoon with a frenetic urge to go buy art supplies for my Arist's Way final project. Picked up a pasta maker for working sculpey, and some metalic acrylic paints. Still not perfectly set on what my final project is going to be -- but I'm leaning now toward doing a 3D photographic animation, and then creating a new website that it can go on. [Still feeling high from creating the Unconscious Collective site. :-) ]
Got home from my errand, and immediately bustled out the door with G to nigh-Beaverton, where she picked up a beautiful manual typewriter from a freecycle guy. Eee! Wow, was this guy a character. Welded sculpture in the yard; a fridge with six spigots for his home-made beer in the garage; a Texas-shaped ash tray; a home-made, incredibly well-balanced sword that he made me try hefting (eep!); and constant swearing.
G made shepherd's pie (yum!!), I steamed some kale. Didn't eat til 10, but boy was it good. ...We're experimenting with having a dry-erase board in the dining room. We've got a list of foods that need to be eaten, so they don't go bad. Mmm -- I see some good dining ahead!
