Busy, busy.

Last Monday I did a long lunch with J -- the first serious time alone since May, I think. Same night, I had my first real date with MM since we met at Burning Man.

Tuesday I woke a little dizzy and got a late start. Began the process of correcting my auto record. Via G adding me to Trixie's insurance, we discovered that the DMV thinks I was responsible for the Dec 2002 accident in which I was rear-ended while stopped at a traffic light. Saw "Shawn of the Dead" with G, Michaelmas, and Rob. Rob & Kyrie are recently pregnant (congrats!); Rob seems guarded, which worries me some.

I meant to write a post for the blog Tuesday night. But it turned into a 16 page essay. I wrote for nine and a half hours straight -- beginning at 11:30pm, and stopping at 9:00am.

Wednesday Carl came over. G, he, and I took a nice 5 mile walk on the Springwater. In the afternoon I napped, Carl worked on submission letters (trying to get a writing deal with a magazine), and G got sucked into reading my 16-pager. Leopoldo joined the three of us to watch the final Presidential Debate at 6. Alex R, coming all the way from Beaverton, showed up after everyone else had left, but hung out a while.

Thursday G & I took Trixie in to get serviced. We spent the day volunteering for No on 36 again, punctuated with a long bag lunch under a tree by the ruins of a stone church. In the evening we discovered (to much chagrin) that Trixie wasn't done. We went to an IPRC orientation at 7, and then met with Carl & Laura at Vincente's for head-sized calzones at 8:45. I made a new keylime pie when we got home; doesn't taste as good this time for some reason.

Friday was a day off (at long last). I slept late, which was needed. We picked up Trixie and lunched at Pizza Hut. Mmm...

Saturday and Sunday we spent traipsing around Portland's east side, seeing lots of artists' studios as part of the Portland Open Studios tour. I took a bazillion digital photographs, collecting ideas for how we want to set up our studio. Both weekend evenings were taken up, for me, with PWCL work. I put in a total of six hours drafting a Strategic Plan for our fundraising work, using a template that will be being used agency-wide. I think I did good work -- but expect that some folks will feel it's too detailed. We'll see.

Hey: My birthday is Nov. 1! That's, like, less than 2 weeks from now... Aaaagh!
