Earwax. Guh! My right ear had been being cloudy when I woke up each morning for a few days. G helped me try to Q-tip it out Saturday night, which only resulted in plugging the ear entirely -- couldn't hear at all. It was still like that Sunday morning, so we tripped out to Walgreens and got ourselves some supplies...

Lying on the floor with peroxide in your ear is, in fact, very much like having Rice Crispies next to your brain. Oddly, it takes a lot of focus to stay with the sensation. After peroxide loosens everything up, you use the cool squirty bulb to shoot water into the ear canal. What came out: a ball of wax the diameter of a cigarette, and as long as an unused pencil eraser ("two!" says G) -- almost black, and rather hard. ...I can't believe that thing was in me. :-P

We'd planned to go see the "Stepford Wives" remake at the Bagdad, but wound up not going because of my ear thang. Did finish showing G the original film, though. ...It's funny how I got interested in "Stepford Wives". I knew it was a classic, and had wanted to read it for some time. But it wasn't until I wanted to show a double-feature with "Wicker Man" that I actually dove in. I knew by reputation that SW would be a daylight horror story, which would go well with WM; I had to special order SW from Amazon, and I had to read the book before I'd let myself see the film. I'm funny.

Seems like I was all moody Saturday. G suggested that I make the coconut caramel creme pie that we'd been discussing, rather than the Linzer Torte idea. [Turns out we didn't have enough homemade raspberry sauce for the torte, anyway.] So I did that, with only minor snafus.

Dinner was the horrible accident. We had just taken our lovely meals out to the deck, when I managed to tip my plate smack onto the ground. Waaaaaah! I managed to salvage most of it. Only now it was more of a caserole now, rather than the salad and rice / indian lentils that it started as. Good thing that there was pie to drown my sorrows in, afterwards.

G & I went to the SG show Saturday night. Really didn't do much for either of us. But I'm glad that we (I) got the courage up to go, so I won't spend time wondering what I missed, mentally calling myself chicken.

G & I stood atop a stool to see over the crowd. How I love G -- no one I'd rather go with. Had a fun time cuz I was with her. Kishes. :-)
