Kvetch. Why, oh why, did I feel compelled to eat -all- the leftover caramel last night? And: Why, oh why, must getting a nosebleed be a part of my daily, first-thing-in-the-morning routine?

Must wrap and send gifts for Shield and Z today. If I ship a box "priority" (or whatever that more expensive class is called) then maybe I can get it to them by Solstice. Why, oh why, am I so bad about getting gifts and sending them in a timely way? [Does it have something to do with that time that my family was consumed by a wild pack of flesh eating Santa Clauses?]

Tonight the filmmakers group is meeting to do something "abstract" about rhythm. Don't know how this is going to go, but it's Leopoldo's baby, and I want to support all the players here. Fuzzy about what project I want to do next, personally. J gave me a talking to about what an imposition bad writing is on the audience -- which has me feeling like I should either be thinking about how to get to that next level, or acknowledge to myself that I'm just futzing around.

Youthlib.com is exciting. While G was doing evaluations of online courses for PSU, I did a bunch of writing on the laptop in her livingroom. Drew up a draft homepage layout that I feel positive about. Also been working on an essay about the definition of YL that will kick some ass -- when I finally figure out how to start it on the right foot. I've written two introductions so far (maybe 5 hours of work?) that just don't cut it. New plan: a more spartan essay -- cut to the chase and explain the definition first; talk about different purposes of definitions and how to use the definition for evaluation at the end.

Bah. I'm in sore need of some clean dishes and clean laundry.

I would like to get the xmas tree up this afternoon. And, if at all possible, check out Saturday Market for bowls for Grannie and Grampa. [The market's open weekdays during the build up to xmas.]
Beware of the Willywags
one and all full of silly gags
they giggle and bounce
they bibble and flounce
a Willywag's full of mischief
down to his last ounce!

Seussical mutterings aside, I would just like to say: meh. 3:40am, and J has just left to go sleep at E's place. Tomorrow bright and early they drive to SLC. If they get back around Jan 8, that'll be 22 days -- the longest we've ever been apart, I believe. I'm going to be having a wonderful time here in town with G over xmas, and then at the coast. But nonetheless: meh.

I worry for J -- it's scary to go be off your own turf for that long. And with someone elses family. And while trying to keep doing your paying job via a wacky DSL work-around. Everyone cross your fingers!

The three feet between
two people
is an ocean

And every time we open
our mouths
we have to invent a
new language
to try to talk to
one another

Then I forget it again
when you go
and you start to become
a memory

Which is why I need
someone who
will stay in eyesight
keep their hand in mine
just keep talking

This is what I think
about
intimacy

Thanks to gl. for pointing me at this quiz... Hee!

The first time I took this, I turned out as Snookums, cuz I said I liked to eat humans. Went back and changed that answer to "Space Aubergines". ...What's an aubergine? Google says it's like an eggplant.
