Monday G and I helped J move into her new house.

She's been salivating over this place for several years, after having had clients that lived there. It's a small house, but it's got an enormous yard. It's off a ways from the main street, so it's very quiet, and all the vegetation gives a lot of privacy. Apparently, the house is about a hundred years old; there are all sorts of crazy additions that owners have made over the years.

And here's the crazy part. It started off as shanties. And you can tell. But because there's a big new grocery store nearby, the value of the property has shot up to a million dollars just during the past year. ...Whoah!

So, J will be living there with E and C. They're the voting majority where decoration of the living room is concerned. It's got to have "aesthetic", since they're artists (and yes, I say that with affection).

G and I will be taking over the other side of the duplex in a few days. Got a call from our landlord this morning saying that he's 75% sure that he can get it done in the 5 days he promised -- but not to sign the lease just yet. There's a burn on the kitchen floor that he's going to tackle repairing. We've been hopeful about J getting her deposit back; this, however, is not a good omen.

The moving day was actually spent in pretty good spirits. A group project -- builds that team feeling, y'know? J and I didn't really get weepy til the very end, thinking back about when we moved in three years ago. It's hard. Obviously. But I do feel happy for J getting her dream house, and getting to actually live with E.

...Once upon a time J and I had this concept: "mundo bueno / mundo malo". In charged events like this, you get some choice in deciding whether it's a good world or a bad world. And what you decide helps steer you in that direction. I choose mundo bueno. And mundo bueno it turns out to be.
