Burning Man prep. ...That's pretty much it!
One of Burning Man's central philosophical tenets is described as "radical self-reliance". G found someone online who instead called it "radical pre-planned consumerism"... Which is perhaps more accurate.
I think this week we managed to collect just about all the crucial elements that we were missing:
We did a trial set up of the tent a few days ago. Looks good! Palacial, even! ...Unfortunately, it started raining yesterday -- and my konfabulator weather widget says it's going to be raining at least through Wednesday. Eep: are we going to have time to dry the tent out?
Looks like we leave next Sunday. We'll be taking Trixie the wonder car. Though it's smaller than the Svan, it'll be a more comfortable drive. And hey -- we just got our bad motor karma out of the way yesterday (knock on wood), when Trixie got a flat. We were fortunate: we discovered it at Seeger's house, while G was there to cat sit. From there, it was only a short walk over to Michael's (curse Seeger and Christie for being a cell-phone only home!). It took AAA forever to come...
...And the guy who came? Ohmigod! First he had G sit on my lap on the ride back over to Seegers -- which is sooo illegal. Then, on the ride over his car is all starting and stopping; seriously, he's the worst driver I think I've ever been with. Revel in the irony!
G & I took the day off today, resting up before the final push. I'm glad we did. It's good to soak up the relaxation and spend some quality time together. Best not to go to Burning Man coming straight out of an uninterupted race to get ready.
Remaining to be done:

Remaining to be done:
- pay all bills
- clear out the voicemail
- research where to get dry ice
- take out Trixie's back seat
- figure out what to eat, and buy it
- go thrifting for playa clothes
- decorate the tent and bikes
- get the flat tire fixed
