Woo-hoo! Finished out a journal notebook today. That's June 9 - August 16.
The big event of the past few days was a day trip to the coast with G & Leopoldo. Leopoldo's 31st birthday was Thursday. (Originally there was talk of a three day stay in Bend, seeing lava tubes, but things got scaled back.) Lovely day, tooling around. Saw the Tillamook cheese factory, played frisbee at Seaside, stopped and watched the sunset from a viewpoint, and dinnered at a nifty bistro in Cannon Beach.
Was totally exhausted Saturday. Woke up with my mood depressed; not sad or grumpy, just everything very low -- clearly not due to any cause other than sleep dep. A nap in the evening helped (though it wound up canceling my plans to be at Rory's birthday party) -- still it wasn't til Sunday afternoon that I really started feeling right again.
Eeek! Just two weeks left to Burning Man! And there's still so much to do... Most of the basics are coming into place (tent, air mattress, water). What I'm most concerned with right now is getting the personal FX for walking around in the desert: a broad-brimmed hat that won't blow off, a water pack (not necessarily CamelBak brand), a lightweight camera of some sort?
Spent yesterday evening writing a report for the Dev Cmte: "Fundraising and Publicity Plan of the PWCL Development Committee, 2004 Aug - Oct". It's a cute six page doc -- not including the cover page and table of contents. :-D
...Having inventoried everything in the ex-Development Director's desk this past week, I'm contemplating taking on reorganizing said desk as my next project. There's a good deal of chaos that I could lend order to. Perhaps not til after Burning Man, though. The "Which Grants Are Urgent?" doc, plus last night's work, totals 13.75 hours PWCL work for the past week. I don't think I can spare anything like that for a while now.
