Yesterday I was so sick, I passed out. I managed to fall on my face, and woke up in an actual puddle of blood. [A "bloodle", we've decided.] Very distressing. Fortunately I didn't break my nose; but it's swelling, and I'm still getting some blood this morning when I blow. Digestion is still off, too.
What the heck is going around? I've got a bad feeling that this is one of those moments when calamity is going to arrive in clumps. ...No, I'm not actually superstitious -- but you've just got to wonder.
Friday night, after the Dahlia show, G and I got involved in breaking up a fight. There was actual punching involved, lots of shouting of "faggot", and the threat of guns. G was the real bulldog in this scenario, physically putting herself between the two, and commanding the instigator to go home. She's my superhero. :-)
Saturday, on the way back from the PWCL retreat, I stopped because I saw a bicyclist on the side of the road who had apparently been hit by a car. It looked like he probably had a broken arm. 911 had already been called, so I left the scene pretty soon. Had to get my vehicle out of the way of the fire truck and ambulence as they pulled up.
Almost at the same time, but in another part of town, G circled the block because she saw a couple in some kind of fight, where the (presumed) boyfriend was violently shouting at the gal. Things seemed to have cooled down when she circled around again -- but it was ugly, nonetheless.
My grandparents have just been put into an assisted living home. My grampa, who's just hit the precipitous decline stage of Alzheimer's, is pretty unhappy about not being at home -- and worse yet, being parted from his dog. Dexter dog can only visit during the daytime, can't stay over night. Getting Grannie and Grampa into this home has obviously been pretty stressful on my mom. Meh.
Called J to update her on my situation. The good news: she's found her new housemate, who will move in circa Oct 1. [Btw: Ohmygawd! 5 left to go!] The bad news: her recently acquired kitten got sick yesterday. Wretching sounds that sounded like she was choking on something. Naturally the symptoms disappeared (but only temporarily) as soon as they got to the vet.
Happy birthday to E, btw.
...And now Carl's sick, too. We had plans this morning to go walking on the Springwater, then write. But he's in the "I can't even eat cream of wheat or yogurt" stage, so we defer to next week.
Yeesh! Sometimes synchronicity is a pretty scary thing... Bad things going around.
Stay well, everyone. Take care of yourselves. And make sure you hug all your loved ones tonight.
