Whatever it was that wacked me so good on Tuesday morning, now persists in the form of an icky cold. Nixed doing work at the Crisis Line this morning. Chose to go out to "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" as planned, though.

Sky Captain: enjoyment factor outweighed irritation factor, mostly.

The one damning thing in my book: during your climactic end sequence, quit making stupid jokes and pay attention to the action. I mean, it's supposed to be the literal end of the world! Enough with the not-funny-anyway jabs!

...My other main gripe: I appreciate the homages to pulp sci-fi; but you're breaking the rules of your own game if you reference Phantom Menace and The Matrix. We're not just copying any sci-fi here, folks -- it's got to be the old stuff!

That being said, I did sincerely appreciate the reference to "Mysterious Island". A shout out to our homie Harryhausen is always classy. [But the robots... I know I've seen the robots before, but can't seem to find them again in my books. Dang; this is going to drive me crazy.]

Back to being sick: Digestion remains all wrong. Energy comes and goes. Not sure if I've been feverish or not; but my cheeks get all burny. Meh. Looking very plausible that I won't be able to see MM on Friday.

G has been the best. She's taken really good care of me through this whole thing. Thank you, fallen star.
