Phew! A visit from Carl, a visit from Mom & Mike, a visit from Vickie (G's stepmom). Despite the push now to get the teaser-trailer done, yesterday just kinda had to be a day off. I caught up on sleep some, I finished reading "I, Robot" (which I had meant to read last year, before the film came out). Also, I came along with G to her last summer Artist's Way class at the MAC to help set up the labyrinth. We debriefed at Burgerville; it's important to stay with her on these things, not drift away when separate projects are the game.
One week left to get the trailer done. I'm going to be cutting out several of the activities I would normally have done this week, to give myself adequate tiime / breathing room. I'm feeling pretty good about being able to get it done. Sunday night I spent two hours wrestling with the blizzard sequence at the beginning, and finally decided that cutting my "showing off" shot would best serve the film. With that out of the way, most of the work feels pretty doable. It's just the bits with modeling the critters that could expand to take up too much time -- if I let them.
