Yesterday was G's & my 7 month anniversary. She got us lemon pound cake from Hannah Bea's (3969 NE MLK). It was yummy... All the more so because of the intense little flyer that came with it: "With every bite, please, savor and enjoy this cake. It's main ingredient is love, and its flavor will stay with you long after its gone." ...Whoa.

We went for a freakin' gorgeous night stroll on the Springwater Corridor Trail, accessable a few blocks south of here. The moon was full, low to the horizon, glowing through the evening vapors. It was delicious; a Halloween moon misplaced into March.

We had to stop as we passed some marshy bits -- the frogs were deafening. We stood a long while, surrounded by sound, playing with half covering our ears, shaping the waves in the air, making audio ecclipses. [And when we spun, swing dancing to that music, the day-bright moonlight made our faces wax and wane with shadow.]

On the way back, we stopped at the little community area behind the neighborhood houses, which we only just discovered a month ago. A black cat with white breast and paws ("Luna" for lack of a collar) came and hung out with us a while.

Oh, beautiful.

So, I didn't go for the walk on Powell Butte that I had planned. But I got something far better.

This morning's most interesting thought while journaling: I'm prone to create routines -- and then get stuck in them. I like everything that I've planned for myself, but I haven't made room for wishing / imagining, or for experimenting. [Nor for reading, for that matter.] Glad to identify these things -- once I have them on my mind, it's not so difficult to bring them back into the picture.
