The studio is ours! Landlord guy sent Maid Brigade through... There are still nicks in the paint in places that we feel he should have repainted, but I've decided to go ahead and accept it. I'll sign the lease and send it in with a check today.

G & I went over last night with symbolically significant "first things in the new house" objects. We put magnets on the fridge that we got at the Stumptown Comics Fest on Sunday. We waited til midnight (yes, counting down out loud like New Year's) and then opened up one of her brown-paper-wrapped paintings.

G moved a whole load of art up with her from California, which never got opened while she was living at the other place. It seemed very appropriate to inaugurate the new art studio with one of these mystery packages. I was a *little* surprised: it's a calligraphed picture of that famous bandit hero from Australia... whose... name... I'm forgetting... Oh well. The point is, we opened it up and the first thing I see is a pistol pointing at me. :-P

Had a doctor appointment yesterday to get the lipoma on my back checked again. Calloo, Callay! It's a harmless growth, that can be removed in half an hour with local anaesthetic. *Sigh of relief.* Someone put it in my head that lipomas are a form of cancer, and I'd begun to worry: "What if it's grown over the past few years? What if I'm riddled with cancer now, and don't even know it?" Mucho thanks to G for helping me get this doctor's visit off the "donwannabutoughta" list and into reality.

Oh my gawd, I am so in love with Erika Moen! I mentioned before, she's a comix artist that we saw at the Comics Fest... Well, G found her stuff online, and I spent an hour perusing last night. It's so sweet! And elegant! And sexy! And it's my culture! ...And there's even a robot! *Gush*
